1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS

November 2005

This Subaru Impreza has a custom t3/t4 turbo kit with a Wolf 3D Advanced Engine Management System (AEMS). The car boosts 14 psi and puts down 277 horsepower to the wheels (all 4). Boost is held by the APEXi AVC-R. The Wolf 3D AEMS acts as an onboard computer and is used for the tuning of injection, ignition, and other parameters. In addition, a security code must be entered each time the car is started. Security is increased with a Clifford Matrix alarm with back up battery. Air enters a GReddy Airinx and leaves through a set of version 4 Borla headers into 3" Minnam/Mavtech piping and out an HKS carbon fiber titanium muffler. Due to too much power causing the factory clutch to slip, an ACT Street Gear Clutch with Heavy Duty Pressure Plate installed along with an ACT light weight flywheel. The intake manifold, valve covers, and turbo pipes were all removed and powdercoated. A red candy coating was used over a silver sparkle base. While the intake manifold was out, custom parallel fuel lines were made by Amazon Hose. This modification, along with the WRX fuel injectors and fuel pump, prevents any cylinder from running too lean or too rich, thus leading to lower EGTs and better performance. The stock seats were removed and reupholstered white and blue leather. A Sparco Flash 5 steering wheel is mated to a Sparco steering wheel hub. In the center console sits the APEXi AVC-R in a carbon fiber shroud, and below that a PYLE PLTV5N head unit. The color is a custom light blue with a heavy frost blue pearl. A carbon fiber hood was added and painted to match the scheme, while Sparco hood pins hold it in place. Morette headlights with SYMS Style grill complete the front fascia. The doors were shaved (moldings), C-West Body kit and MR2 vents molded, fenders flared, and a locking Sparco gas cap installed. The car sits on a rare set of 17x7.5" Volk Racing SE37Ks in black with TOYO FZ4 245/45 tires. Behind the wheels sits Brembo cross-drilled rotors with Axxis deluxe plus brake pads. Suspension is adjustable in height with Ground Control coilovers, and damper with KYB/AGX gas adjustable shocks. A Cusco 21mm rear sway bar adds stiffness to the rear of the car. The ride is further enhanced with a Kartboy short shifter with shifter bushings. A STi transmission mount holds it all in place and adds more rigidity. This car is definitely an eye catcher and show winner. It has won numerous awards at events such as Hot Import Nights, Import Revolution, and other National events. It has been featured on a number of websites, and can be seen in a few magazines. Including a feature in the April/May 03 issue of NOPI Street Magazine and a feature in the UK based REVS June 2003 Magazine. The car was also on the front cover of the industry's newspaper, 12 Volt Street News. In the August 2004 issue of HCI, the car is pictured in the SEMA NJ coverage. In the September 2004 issue of Super Street, Ms. Victoria is pictured with my car in the Orlando HIN coverage section. Its ultimate highlight occurred during the shooting of the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious. The car was seen in the last garage scene driving right next to Paul Walker's Lancer Evolution and Tyrese's Eclipse Spyder.
